I couldn’t wait to get home and was relieved to find that Josh was still there. I burst into the house and hunted for him. I finally found him perched at my computer, his cell phone stuck to his ear. I leaned against the door jamb and looked at him lustfully. He smiled and held up a finger to me indicating I should wait a minute. I didn’t want to wait. I walked over, sat on my knees in front of him and lay my head in his lap. He rubbed my head as he talked. Josh was obviously on the phone with his vocal coach as they were talking about a schedule for him to begin his exercises before the tour was to start up again. We had talked about the tour on Sunday and I spent a good portion of the day dealing with emotions I hadn’t really ever experienced before, a dreadful feeling of loss and a mixture of panic and fear. He was wrapping up his call and that was good because I couldn’t wait to get my hands and my mouth on him. He snapped his cell phone closed and slid off the chair onto his knees in front of me. Slipping his hands behind my head he pulled my mouth to his and kissed me with passion. I didn’t even care if we had sex at that point, I just wanted to love him, to show him that I loved him, to lay in his arms … He pulled me down to the floor where he lay half on top of me, resting on one arm and lightly trailing his fingers up and down my chest with the other hand, his mouth was on mine, kissing me. He rubbed his lips over mine then sucked them gently. He pulled back a moment and just smiled at me.
“What?” I asked, suspicious. He just shrugged and smiled.
“Nothing. I just love you.” I grinned and slipped my arms around his neck.
“I love you too.” I said and he resumed kissing me. “I don’t want you to go.” I whispered between kisses. He sighed.
“I know. I don’t either but I haven’t got a choice. How would you feel if you had a ticket to my concert and I didn’t show up because I was too busy fucking a beautiful woman?” I pretended to cry.
“Oh God, no! Josh! Please sing to me!” I giggled as he bit my neck.
“I’m going to make you sing baby …” He growled then began to peel off my clothes …
Chris paced his room nervously then glanced at his watch for the 15th time that morning. He was waiting, patiently for Lori’s shift to come to a close before having a friend from school, Deanna, make an anonymous phone call. She sat at his computer desk playing World of Warcraft, chewing her gum loudly and blowing bubbles. He wanted to pull the gum out of her mouth and stuff it up her nose but he needed her right now so he would have to tolerate another 15 minutes of snapping and popping. Finally the time arrived. He dialed the number to the station and handed the phone to Deanna. She glanced down at the script that Chris had written for her and twirled her gum around her finger. When the engineer answered she nodded to Chris. He sat down on the bed, leaned his elbows on his knees and folded his hands, watching.
“Yeah, uhhh is this Andy?” Deanna asked in her best valley girl voice. “You don’t know me but I have some information for you that I think you will find interesting.” She paused. Chris eyed her, watching for clues. “You know your friend, Lori? Well her boyfriend, Josh Groban, well he’s not divorced.” She paused again and, as she held the phone with her chin, folded the paper the script was on into a small box. “No, he’s just separated from January Jones, they aren’t divorced. Will I talk to Lori?” She glanced at Chris for a sign. He nodded. “Yeah, sure, put her on.” She blew a bubble with her gum and after sucking in the remnants of a burst gum bubble she mouthed, “I’m on hold.”
“Remember that you’re a friend of January’s.” He reminded her. She nodded knowingly.
“Yeah, hi, ummm you don’t know me but I have some information for you that I thought you might find interesting.” She paused. Lori was talking, Chris guessed. “Well umm that guy you’re dating, well he’s married. Yeah, I mean Josh Groban.” Deanna winked at Chris. “I mean he’s not divorced therefore he’s still legally married. He’s only separated from January.” She rolled her eyes. “Who am I? I’m a friend of January.” Deanna sighed. “What’s my purpose for calling you and telling you? You figure it out, you’re a big girl. How’s it feel sleeping with a married man?” She smiled and then jumped in surprise when the phone suddenly went dead. She snapped the cell phone closed and handed it back to Chris.
“Well?” He asked urgently.
“She hung up on me!” Deanna said and then laughed. “And boy is she pissed!” Chris smiled wickedly. His plan was starting to unfold. By nightfall Josh would be history and he would be free to move in on Lori. She might even be more receptive to him since Josh will have proven himself unworthy of her affection. “Hey!” Deanna said pulling him towards her. “Where’s my payment?” Chris sighed. He had no desire to do this but it was the only way he could get her to cooperate. He pulled Deanna into his arms and kissed her with all the passion he could muster.
