Chapter 8

Chris immediately pulled me into his arms and hugged me tightly.  When we pulled apart he handed me a single red rose.

“It’s beautiful!”  I exclaimed and stuffed my nose into it, inhaling it’s scent deeply.

“It’s nothing compared to you.”  He said softly.  I smiled at him.  He was so sweet and I told him so.  His cheeks flushed pink.  He helped me sit at the dining table and while I opened the menu and glanced at the fare Chris sat staring at me.  I felt it rather then saw it and it made me a tad uncomfortable.  I looked up and into his hazel eyes.

“Are you going to look at the menu?”  I asked shifting in my seat.  He shook his head and smiled at me.

“I already know what I want.”  He said in a low voice.  I felt heat wash through me.  His voice sounded like Josh but the face was different.  It was an odd sensation.  I cleared my throat and looked back down at the menu.  I wasn’t sure what I wanted – to eat. I knew what I wanted and he wasn’t there at the moment.  I had to keep reminding myself because Josh’s brother, though he wasn’t a carbon copy was handsome and sexy in his own right.  I decided what I wanted and set the menu down.  He smiled again.  He was going to have to knock that off if I was going to survive this lunch.

“So what are you going to have?”  I asked him.  He blushed and looked down at his lap.  I glanced off in another direction wondering what the hell was up with him.

“I’m going to have a BLT.”  I nodded.  “So how was work today?”  He asked me.

“It was good.  It seems like ever since I mentioned Josh and played him on the station my ratings have gone up.  Which is weird.”  I made a face.  “You would think metal punks wouldn’t appreciate it but they did.”  Chris nodded, disinterested.  “Ummm … so how’s school?”  His face lit up at that.

“It’s great.”  He said curtly.  “I only have a few more credits and I get my degree.”  I smiled at him.  The waiter came, we ordered our drinks and our lunch at the same time.

“Then what will you do with it?”  I asked as I sipped my white wine after the waiter set it down in front of me.  He also took a drink and then sighed.

“I’m going to make movies.”   My eyes opened wide in surprise.

“Movies?  Very cool!  How do you go about getting a degree to make movies?”  I asked curiously.  He turned his glass around and around on the table until I was nearly dizzy.

“Well …”  He began with a sigh.  “I have been studying film history, photography, film production, animation, screenwriting … stuff like that.”  I nodded.

“That’s very cool.”  I said.  “Then when you make your first film your brother can sing the theme song for it.”

“Yeah … So tell me more about yourself.”  I chuckled at the way he totally disregarded any mention of his brother.  My guess was that he’d had his brother shoved down his throat quite a bit in the recent past.

“Why don’t you want to talk about Josh?”  I came right out with it.  His face went blank and he stared at me, his mouth open before he blinked and shook his head.

“I have had just about enough of Josh.”  He said and leaned back in his chair to stare at me.  He raised one eyebrow.  I burst out in giggles.  He smiled and laughed with me.  “Everywhere I go it’s Josh this, and Josh that.  I swore I would punch then next person that mentioned Josh’s name to me …”  I began to giggle harder.

“Shall we just call him “The ‘J’ word” then?”  Chris laughed so hard he snorted and that made me laugh harder.  We could hardly stay on our chairs as the waiter brought us our lunch.  We ate and then went for a walk in the park.  The sun was warm but there was a cool breeze.  I hadn’t brought a jacket with me so I hugged my arms to my body as we walked.  Chris chatted on and on about himself and his family and was very careful not to mention Josh and only then identified him by “him” or “he.”  He suddenly noticed my arms broken out in goose bumps.

“Oh my God, Lori!”  He said and threw his arms around me and pulled me to his chest for warmth.  “You’re freezing.”  I huddled there a moment to warm up.

“I’m just a little chilled.”  I said, my teeth chattering.  He held me tightly.  After a moment I became acutely uncomfortable in his arms and broke away from him.

“I’m so sorry!”  He apologized again and quickly shrugged out of the shirt he wore over a tee shirt and lay it over my shoulders.  I slipped my arms inside and reveled in the warmth it provided.

“Thank you.”  I said as I unrolled the sleeves and buttoned them at my wrists.  We continued to walk along and Chris continued to talk.  He talked about school and homework.  He was a very interesting boy.  I wondered what Josh was up to that afternoon and soon became anxious to get back home.  I steered Chris back around the park and towards where my car was parked.  He walked me to my car and talk about something out of the Twilight Zone, leaned against the door of my car exactly the same way Josh had on our first date, leaning on one arm against the car, the other in his back pocket.  The feelings I had inside of me weren’t the same, though.  I was glad for that.  I dug for my keys in my purse.

“Thank you for having lunch with me.”  Chris said softly.  I nodded.

“It was my pleasure.”  I said and then was struck with an eerie feeling; it was the same exact thing Josh and I had said, again on our first date only the positions were reversed!  I shivered slightly.  Chris immediately put his hands on my arms and rubbed them lightly.

“Are you cold again?”  He asked.  I shook my head quickly, growing more and more uneasy the closer he got to me.  He bent his head and brushed his lips against mine.  I didn’t pull away but I didn’t return the kiss either.  He released me and then smiled.  “We should do this again.”  He said.  I nodded, my cheeks brushed pink.  “Can I call you?”

“Sure.”  I said.  I scribbled my house number down on an old grocery store receipt and handed it to him.  He stuffed it into his pocket and then turned to go.  “Bye Chris.”  I said.  He turned and waved.  He was half a block away before I pulled away and left him.

I went home and changed into sweatpants and a tank top.  I had just sat down at the computer and began checking my email when the doorbell rang.  I sighed and ran down to see who it was.  I opened the door to a handsome curly-haired man bearing a single pink rose.  He smiled and pulled me into his arms.

“Hello, sexy.”  He said and covered my mouth with his.  I slid my arms around his neck and kissed him back, I was very glad to see him.

“Hello sexy right back atcha …”  I said pulling him into the house and slamming the door shut.  He ran the velvety petals of the rose against my cheek.

“How was your lunch?”  He asked.  I shrugged, not really sure if I should tell him that his brother put the moves on me or not.  I was almost positive that he would have gotten a kick out of it but the way he reacted the other day when I told him I was having lunch with Chris made me doubt myself.

“It was good.  Your brother is very smart.”  I said pulling him over to the couch.  I pushed him down onto it and settled myself on to his lap.  He wrapped his arms around me.  “We had a lot of fun.”

“You were gone a long time.”  He said eyeing me.

“We went for a walk in the park after lunch.”  He nodded and eyed my shirt.  I knew what he was staring at, I could feel my own nipples pressing against the fabric.

“And then what?”  He asked, releasing one of his hands to trace the outline of the nipple through the top.

“And then we rented a hotel room and I took his virginity.”  Josh froze and slowly looked up at me.  I laughed.  His demeanor didn’t change as he stared coldly at me.

“That’s not funny.”  He muttered.  My face burned red from humility.  I looked away and then got up from his lap and went into the kitchen.  I leaned down on the counter and took in the cool the marble of the countertop had to offer.  I heard Josh come up behind me.  He put his hand on my back.

“I’m sorry I said that about Chris.”  I said quietly.  “It wasn’t nice.”  He pulled me up by my arms and looked at me, his brows knitted together in a frown.

“It’s not what you said about Chris.  Don’t worry about that.”  I sighed and then sniffled.

“I’m sorry.”  He pulled me into his arms and hugged me to him.  He pulled away slightly and kissed me.

“I said it was okay.”  He whispered and kissed me again, his hands leaning against the counter and pinning me in.  He pressed forward against me, his mouth moving over my lips, kissing and nipping them then moving down my chin to my neck.  He spent some time alternating nipping at me and sucking my neck until I could stand no more and pulled his body to mine, my hand running down his chest to grope him through his jeans.  He was already hard as a rock.  I needed to feel him inside me.  I unsnapped and unzipped him then yanked down his pants.  He wasn’t wearing underwear.

“Oh!  Look at this!”  I exclaimed excitedly taking him into my hands.  He was hot and throbbing and moaned when I touched him.  He pulled me to him roughly and slipped his hand into my sweatpants.  He sought out and found the spot between my legs and stuffed a finger inside me.  “Oh baby …”  I moaned.  He pushed the finger in deeper and then pulled it out and plunged it in again.  “Oh Josh …”

“You like that?”  He whispered and bit at my neck.

“Yes …”  I panted.  “But I want more.”  He pulled out his finger and then yanked my pants down to my ankles.  He turned me to face the counter and leaned me over.  I pulled one leg out of the pants and spread myself open for him.  He entered quickly and easily then held me by my hips and gave it to me, hard and swift.  I groaned as he bumped against me again and again until he reached his climax and emptied himself inside me.  He groaned and leaned against me.  “Oh God, Josh …”  I sighed as we leaned on the cool counter.

“That’ll teach you.”  He said, out of breath.

“Teach me to what?”  I breathed.

“To use my brother to taunt me.”  I chuckled.

“Is that all it took?”  I asked and laughed again.  We got dressed and then sat together on the couch.  Josh lay with his head in my lap and crunched on an apple.  I stroked his hair and gulped some water.

“So I guess you’re not hungry for dinner then?”  He said finally, breaking the silence that had settled over the room.  I giggled.

          “No, I’m not.”  I replied.

“So what did you and peanut talk about over lunch?”

“I can tell you what we didn’t talk about.”  I said with a chuckle.

          “What was that?”

          “You.”  I said.  He sighed.

“I figured.  We’re not best friends these days.” It was my turn to sigh.

“You two have got to work that out.  And …”  I said quickly as I saw him open his mouth to speak.  “He’s as much to blame as you are.”  He went back to eating the apple.  He held it up to me.

“Want a bite?”  He asked.  I pushed it back down at him.

“No thanks, Eve.”  I said with a snicker.  He laughed and took another bite.

“So when’s your next date?”  He asked.  I shrugged.

“Don’t know.  I gave him my phone number though.”  He burst into giggles.

“Oh that was a mistake.”  He said and as if on cue the phone rang.   I looked down at Josh as he looked up at me and we both burst out laughing.  I pushed his head up so I could stand.

“I guess I should get it.  It might be your brother.”  I said as I went to fetch the phone.  When I answered it I heard a familiar voice address me.

“Hi Lori.”  Chris said.  I made my way back to the couch and covered my mouth with my hand stifling a giggle.  “Told you.”  Josh mouthed.  I shrugged.

“Hello Christopher.”  I said.  He sighed.

“Oh please don’t call me that, my mother calls me that.”  I snickered.  Josh raised his head so I could sit down and he replaced his head in my lap and I once again stroked his hair.  He looked up at me curiously while I talked to Chris.  “I just wanted to thank you again for having lunch with me.  I had a great time.”

“Well like I said, it was my pleasure and I had fun.  Did you have fun?”  Josh covered his mouth with his hand and giggled silently.

“I did.  So when should we do it again?”

“Don’t know.  When do you want to?”  Josh rolled his eyes and sighed loudly.

“Tomorrow?”  Chris asked.  Josh, obviously listening intently shook his head no and frowned.

“Sure.”  I said just to spite him.  He frowned and bared his teeth at me.  “But we have to invite Josh.”  I added.  Josh and Chris both sighed the exact same way at the same time.  It was Groban stereo.  “Oh come on.  That’s not a nice attitude.  You two need to settle whatever it is that you are fighting about and get back together.”  There was silence on the other end.

“Lori …”  Chris said after a moment.  “I would like to have dinner with you tomorrow.  Would you have dinner with me?”  I smiled.  Josh made a fist at me and I pushed it aside.

“What’s wrong with lunch?”  I asked.

“I have a class.”  Chris said with a sigh.  I pinched Josh’s nose when he made the ‘yak-yak’ symbol at me by clamping his hand together like a goose beak.

“Well ummm …”  I said.  I wasn’t sure if I should commit or not.  “Okay, Chris, how about this?  How about we have lunch together Wednesday and that way I can hang out with J …”  I stopped myself before saying it and giggled.  “The ‘J’ word.”  I whispered into the phone.  Chris burst out in laughter and Josh reached up and pinched my nipple through my top.  I yelped and swatted at him.

“What was that, are you okay?”  Chris asked, concerned.  I sighed and hugged my breast.

“It’s okay, I just hurt myself is all.”  I whined and frowned down at Josh.  He made an ‘innocent’ face.  I smacked his forehead.

“Be careful there.  Can’t have ya hurting yourself now.”

“Thank you, Chris.  It’s nice to know you care.”  I said defiantly.  Josh made a face as though he was going to vomit.  “And I will see you at The Farm on Wednesday.”  Josh’s mouth dropped open in surprise as I hung up the phone.  He hopped off the couch and planted his hands on his hips.

“What the fuck?”  He said angrily.  “That’s my favorite restaurant!”  I laughed and kicked at him.

“You are such a dork.”  I said.  “You don’t own the frigging restaurant, Josh!”  He clicked his tongue and shook his head.

“I can’t believe it.  That dirty bastard.”  He said quietly then he turned to me and turned his eyes to slits.  “And what was that about not saying my name?”  I laughed again.

“Oh Chris is tired of hearing about you.  Everywhere he goes it’s Josh this and Josh that … so now you’re just the ‘J’ word.”  He sighed heavily as I chuckled.

“I’m going to kick his ass.”  He said.  I grabbed his arm and pulled him back down to me.

“No you’re not, you’re going to sit here and let me play with your hair until I get bored of it and kick you out so I can go to bed.”  He lay back down and let me wrap his curls in my fingers but it was obvious to me that there was something bothering him and my guess would be it was Chris.  I decided I would get them back together one way or another …

Chris and I had another fun lunch with Chris talking about himself incessantly and me listening with curiosity.  When we finished with lunch we took a walk around the park again and then Chris walked me to my car.

“I have something for you.”  I told him as I unlocked the car door and leaned inside for his shirt that lay on the front seat.  I handed it to him.  He smiled and took it.  “Thanks again.  You see I was prepared today.”  I said holding up my hands and showing him I was wearing a sweat jacket.  Of course I had it tied around my waist today as it was warm and there was a warm breeze.  He smiled.

“Yeah, I see that.”   He eyed me.  I cleared my throat and tucked my hair behind my ear.

“Okay well, I am going to get going.”  I said.  “I have some things to do today.”

“Do those things involve my brother?”  He asked and I detected sarcasm.

“Probably.”  I said and then remembering the last lunch date I had with Chris said, “He likes to show up unannounced and dominate my free time.”  Chris sighed.

“Well okay then.”  He said.  “When can we do this again?”  I told him I could only have lunch with him Thursday because Friday I was busy with a show sponsored by the radio station.  “I have a class tomorrow during the day.”  He said, dejected.  “Would you like to do dinner?”  I thought about it for a moment.  Josh wouldn’t be very happy if I spent my evening with Chris and not him.

“Couldn’t we just have dinner together, the three of us?”  Chris shook his head adamantly.

“No, huh uh.”  He said.  “It’s nice having you all to myself and not having to compete for your attention.”  I smiled.  He had a point.  I sighed.

“Okay then, dinner it is.”  I said.  He pulled me into his arms for a tight hug.  He pulled back and this time when he went to kiss me I turned my head.  His lips connected with my cheek.  I pulled away and headed to the driver’s side door.  “Next time I get to pay.”  I said as I got into my car.  I left him standing right there as I pulled away and as I drove down the block I could see him still standing in the same spot I’d left him, he hadn’t moved.

Josh sat on my bed and watched as I dressed for my dinner with Chris.  I slipped on a skirt and showed him.  He motioned me over with his finger.  I walked over to the bed.  He slid his hands up the backs of my thighs and under my skirt.

“What are you doing?”  I asked.  He ran his hands up and over my ass then back down again.

“Making sure you’re wearing underwear.”  He teased.  I swatted at him and then twirled for him.  He shook his head.  “Try another.”  I went into my closet and put on another skirt and came out.  I sauntered over to him and lifted the front of the skirt.

“And look, I have panties on.”  I teased.  He pulled me closer and slid his fingers up the back of my panties.  He yanked them down and pulled me onto the bed.

“Oh look now, now you don’t.”  He said and slid his fingers between my legs and found me very wet – still.  We had already made love once since he’d been there and it was my guess he was up for a ‘round two.’  “Oh baby … would you look at that.  I don’t think I can let this wetness go to waste …”  He slid two fingers inside me.  I sighed and allowed him to pleasure me until I realized that Chris would be there any minute to pick me up.

“Josh …”  I said pushing at him.  “Chris is going to be here soon, I have to get dressed and you have to leave.”  He sighed heavily and glanced out the window.  “Josh?”  I asked quietly.  He turned to look at me.  “The skirt?”  He made a face.

“Don’t you have something that goes to your ankles?”  I giggled.

“You’re so silly.  I can’t believe you’re acting jealous of your own brother.”  He pulled me to him and buried his face in my abdomen.

“I wouldn’t if he didn’t keep taking you away from me.”  He said, muffled by my body.  I stroked his hair.

“We’re going to have the whole weekend together starting with tomorrow night.”  I said, reassuring.  There was a huge concert tomorrow night at the Greek theatre called Metal Madness and it featured several metal bands.  I was going to host it.  I invited Josh to go and he was thrilled.  He nodded.

“I know, that should be fun.”  I backed away from him and turned his face up to look at me.  He was so very handsome as he eyed me with his large, brown eyes opened so wide and his long, black lashes which were so long they were nearly resting against his eyebrows.  I leaned down and kissed him.  His lips were warm and inviting and had I not had somewhere to go shortly I would have mauled him on the bed again.  He slid his arms around me and tried to pull me to him.  I resisted.

“No Josh, Chris will be here soon.  Why don’t you get going?”  He got up and sighed.  “Don’t forget to pick me up at work tomorrow.”  I called as he headed towards the bedroom door.  “And Josh!”  He stopped and turned, his hands on his hips.

“Yeah?”  He asked.  I indicated my outfit.  He nodded.

“It’s fine.  You sure you don’t have something longer?”  He teased.  I giggled.  He blew me a kiss and then left.

It wasn’t five minutes after Josh left that Chris showed up.  I allowed him to peck me on the cheek in greeting and then we left in his Jeep Wrangler.  We had dinner at a quiet, upscale, quaint restaurant in downtown Los Angeles.  Chris was dashing in a suit and tie.  I underdressed and felt embarrassed.  I expressed that to him and he waved it away.

“Don’t even think about it.”  He said and then smiled.  “You could be wearing a pair of sweat pants and a ripped, stained tee shirt and you would outclass half these people.”  I blushed and smiled back at him.

“That was genuinely sweet.”  I said and patted his hand.  He took my hand in his and held it.  I pulled it away uncomfortably and worked on eating my ravioli.

“I have to work on my film next week.”  He said as we ate.

“Your film?”  I asked.  He nodded.

“Mmmhmm.  I’m making a film for a project.”  His eyes opened wide.  “Hey would you like to be in it?”  He asked, showing his perfect white teeth.

“Sure!”  I said.  “What’s it about?”  He sighed.

“Ummm it’s about soup kitchens and missions in LA.”  I frowned at him.

“And how exactly do I fit into this picture?”  He laughed.

“Well you don’t, I guess but you would certainly be lovely in it.”  I laughed at him.

“You are silly.”  He nodded in agreement.

“Yeah, but when I make another film about maybe music or something you are so going to be in it!”  I smiled.

“Sure, I will.”  I said.  We finished our dinner and I insisted on paying this time.  Chris let me.  He held the car door open for me and I got in.  He started it up and pulled away from the valet.

“Would you like to hit a club or something?”  He asked as he drove.  I shook my head.

“No Chris, I have to get up at four tomorrow morning.  I can’t stay out late.”  I glanced at the clock in the car.  It was going on 9.

“I should really get home.”  I sighed.  “I’m an early-to-bed kind of girl.”  He grinned at me and turned the car towards my house.  Chris walked me up to the door.  I unlocked it and turned to him.

“We’ll do this again.  Probably after you’re finished making your film or whatever.”  I went to open my door and he pulled me into his arms.  He pressed his mouth on mine.  Now I didn’t want to be rude, and I didn’t want to be mean, he was a nice kid and fun to be around but I couldn’t let him kiss me.  I pulled away quickly and wiped my mouth with the back of my hand.  “Chris!”  I snapped a little too harshly.  He looked at me and touched his lips with his fingers.  “Don’t, please don’t kiss me.”  He sighed.  I swallowed hard.  “I think you are a wonderful guy and I have fun with you but we’re not ‘dating’ and we’re not an item.”  He looked up at me, a distressed look crossing his handsome face.  I rubbed his cheek lightly.  “I’m with Josh.”  I said.  He scrunched up his face angrily.

“It’s always Josh!”  He said.  “And I met you first.”  I sighed and my eyes softened for him.

“He asked me out first, Chris.”  I took his hand and held it in mine.

“Obivously.”  He looked away but didn’t refuse my hand.

“We can still be friends and hang out and go out to eat and stuff.”  I said, trying to cheer him up.

“God, that’s the worst thing a guy who likes a girl could ever hear her say.”  He looked up at me, his eyes watery, pupils large.  I leaned down and kissed his cheek.

“But it’s not the worst thing a guy could have.”  He threw his arms around me and pulled me to him then hugged me, not wanting to let go.  We separated after a few minutes and he bounded back to his car.  I went into the house after watching him go and leaned back against the door and blew out a huge breath.  I went to the phone and saw that Josh had called a few times.  I returned the call.

“Bout time.”  He said when he answered.  I laughed.

          “Bout time what?”  I teased.

“I only called like 3 times.”

“You could have called my cell phone.”  I said.  He sighed.

“And interrupt Casanova?  Not a chance.”  Giggling I told him that I missed him terribly and he should come over.  “Oh but it’s late and you’ll be wanting to get to bed.”

“Yes, I will and I was wondering if you would want to spend the night with me?”  He was silent a moment on the other end.

“On a school night?”  He joked.  I snickered.

“Yeah, on a school night!  Then you could drive me to work and pick me up after and I can drag you out with me to some stores.  I need to go shopping before the show tomorrow night.”

“Why do you need to go shopping?”  He asked.

          “For you.”

          “Me?”

“Yeah, we’re going to find you something to wear to the concert tomorrow night.   The regular guy Josh isn’t going to cut it if you’re going with me to Metal Madness!”  He laughed.

          “Oh, really?”  He said.

“Mmmhmm.”  I said as I began undressing.  “Are you coming over here or what?”

          “Sure.”

“Good because I’m nearly naked now and I need you.”

“Unh ….”  He groaned.  “I’m on my way.”

I sat on the trunk of Josh’s car and waited for Andy.  I decided not to wake up Sleeping Beauty to drive me to work since Andy was going to pick me up anyway.  I saw headlights in the dark heading towards my drive and assumed it was him.  It was him.  I hopped into the car and Andy backed up down the drive.

“Is that Groban’s car in your driveway?”  He asked.  I nodded.

“Yeah, he spent the night.”  He put the car in drive and peeled off down the street.

“Why did you want me to come and get you then?”  He asked.  I grabbed onto the handle on the driver’s side door and glared at him.

“Why are you speeding like an idiot?”  I asked.  His jaw was clenched and he was grinding his teeth.

“I’m not too sure if I like that guy or not.”  He said quietly through gritted teeth.

“You don’t know him.”  I said and stared out the passenger side window.  “Are you coming to the concert tonight?”  I asked him finally, breaking the silence.

“I don’t know.  Is he going to be there?”  He asked in a sarcastic tone.  I narrowed my eyes and looked at him, trying to figure him out.

“Yeah, he is.”  I said snidely in return.

“Then I doubt I am.”  I sighed heavily and leaned down in my seat.  It was going to be a long day.

I was right.  It was a long work shift and Andy was sullen and sulking the whole time.  I tried to get him to talk to me about what his problem was but he just glared at me and never answered.  I was going to guess he was jealous but what the hell did he have to be jealous of?  It wasn’t as though we were an item.  We were a working team, yes but an item, no.  As far as I could tell he’d never once expressed an interest in me, not that I would have dated him anyway.  He was a nice guy but my heart didn’t race like a Kentucky Derby winner when I was around him like it did whenever I saw or talked to Josh on the phone.  He was a great guy and I knew he’d make some girl happy some day – I just wasn’t that girl.  When the shift was over, Josh had been waiting in the hallway.  Andy was first to leave the studio and when Josh tried to greet him with a handshake Andy brushed past him and took off down the hall.  I came out of the studio and right into Josh’s waiting arms.  He kissed me warmly and slid his arm around my waist as we headed down the hall.

“What’s wrong with Andy?”  He asked as we left the radio station and headed for his car.

“I don’t know.”  I lied.  Well, I didn’t lie, I didn’t really know.  That is, if he was jealous of Josh then he hadn’t actually confirmed it by saying he was jealous of Josh.  Then again it was blatantly obvious but I didn’t have enough confirmation to say for sure he was.  After we were belted in and he had the car revved up and ready to go he asked me our destination.

“Black Phoenix.”  I said.  He frowned and made a confused face, his lips curling up at one end.  I sighed.   “Head to Hillhurst.”  I said.  And with that he peeled away.

“Shit!”  I said as he turned around to show me the back of the pants.  Josh wore a pair of skin tight leather/suede black pants that laced up the crotch and rode low on his hips.  “Those aren’t right for tonight but get those anyway.”  I leered at him and winked.  The saleswoman laughed and cracked her gum between her teeth.  Conscientious of his abdomen being exposed he pulled his tee shirt down over the top of the pants and turned around and headed back into the changing room.  God, I sighed, I wasn’t sure I’d be able to go anywhere with him in public while he was wearing those pants without wanting to make him right then and there.  Moments later he came back out in a pair of Tripp pants that had chains attached to them that crisscrossed over the back and loops that ran down the front with chains that attached from those loops to ones on the backs of the pants.  I smiled and told him to turn around.  They hugged his ass nicely.

“Yes!”  I said to both him and the salesgirl.  “Those are the ones.  We’ll take those and the leather ones.”

“Oh come on, Lor, I can’t wear these!”  He put his hands on his hips and sighed.

“And why not?”  I asked frowning.  He looked down and laughed.

“They are freaking heavy for one.  For another they are very long and last but not least they are goofy.  I’m going to trip and fall that’s for sure.”  I laughed loudly, got up and put my arms around him.

“You are silly.”  He sighed.  “Do you want to look like a Gomer at a metal concert?”  He laughed and then made a face.

          “A Gomer huh?”  I nodded.

“Yah.”  The salesgirl twirled her gum around her finger and nodded too.

“Yah, dude, if you go there dressed like you were when you came in you’ll be thrown out.”  He sighed and rolled his eyes.

          “Good God.”

“What shirt ya gonna wear?”  Salesgirl asked.  I grabbed a shirt I’d already found off the chair and held it up to him.  It was a black tee that said “What are you staring at?”  The salesgirl burst into a fit of giggles and I smiled.

“I’m guessing you like it.”  I said to her.  Josh grabbed the shirt off his chest and looked at it then laughed himself.

“It’s perfect.”  He said between guffaws.

“Dude, you have to wear make-up!”  Salesgirl said after Josh had changed back into his jeans and light blue tee shirt and brought all the clothes up to the register.  I plopped a hoodie down on the counter.

“I wear make-up all the time.”  Josh said to Salesgirl.  “What’s this?”  He held up the hoodie and smiled.

“That’s a present from me for tonight.”  He set the System of a Down hoodie back down on the counter.  “And she’s not talking about the kind of make-up you wear in concert silly.”  He eyed me, raising one eyebrow.  I leaned forward and kissed his lips.

“Don’t worry about it.”  I said.  “I’ll fix you up later.  We’re going to shock the hell out of those prudes who listen to your music.”  He frowned and stuck out his lower lip, hurt.

“What’s that supposed to mean?”  He asked.  I giggled and kissed his lip.

“That means that tonight you aren’t wearing a suit and tie and the people who usually see you that way will have a heart attack.”  He slipped his hand into his front pocket and sighed.

“Great.  I’m going to get my ass kicked, I just know it.”  I paid for the clothes and we left.

I lined the entire outside of his eyes in dark, black eyeliner then stood back to look.  It looked a little heavier on one side so I adjusted it and then looked again.

“Perfect!”  I said and slipped my fingers in to his curls.  “Is your hair dry yet?”  I felt all the way down to his scalp.  It felt dry enough.  “I don’t know if I should put the bandanna on now or when we get to the venue.”  He shrugged.

          “Does it matter?”  He sighed.

“Yeah it does kinda, when you take it off I don’t want your hair to be flat on top, it’ll look a little goofy.”  He made a face.

“I look a LOT goofy without my hair being flat.”  I could tell he felt a tad uncomfortable in the chained pants and tee shirt.  I let him wear his black Converse sneakers though.    I folded the bandanna into a triangle and adjusted it over the top of his head and tied it in the back.

“Okay stand up.”  I said.  He stood and I grinned.  “Oh my dear God!”  I gushed.  “You look badass Josh, it’s fabulous!”  I clapped my hands together.  He smiled, his white teeth stark against the black of his lips.  “You don’t even fucking look like you!”  I squealed.  He sighed.

“So that’s a good thing then?”  He said sarcastically.  I kicked his butt and then pushed him to the mirror.  He gasped as he eyed himself.

“Holy shit!”  He said.  I came up behind him and pulled the tee shirt up a bit exposing his belly a tinge.  He pulled it back down.  I pulled it up.

“It looks sexier this way.”  I said.

“I’m not fond of it.”  He pouted.  I adjusted the shirt so that it was more around his waist and his little trail of black fuzzy hair that led to his groin was showing.

“Just leave it for tonight.  It goes with the whole look.”  He sighed and looked closely at the curls that escaped from the bonds of the bandanna.  He turned his head one way then the other then chuckled.

“I like the hat.”  I laughed and went into my closet.  Now that Josh was dressed it was my turn.  I sat down at the make-up table and put on my make-up good and heavy.  I put on black lipstick and then slipped into my black fishnet stockings and hooked them onto the snaps that led to a black leather garter belt around my waist.  I had already put on a pair of black thong panties.  Josh stuck his head in the door and eyed me.  A grin exploded on his face.  I threw a sock at him.

“Get out!”  I said.  He ducked back out and laughed.  “I don’t want you to see me until I’m dressed.”

“I want to see you UN-dressed!”  He hollered into the little room.  I stepped into a black, short skirt made out of black gauze with a black tulle covering edged in black satin trim that laced up the front.  I put on a black push-up bra and a short sleeved black fishnet tank.  I teased my hair and put the front of it up in little sparkling butterfly pins and left the back of it to fall down my back.  After slipping fishnet gloves on my hands and black boots over my feet and shins I stepped out of the closet to let Josh gawk at me.   He stood there a moment, no response – then he gasped.

“Oh God, Lori …”  He breathed.  He licked his lips then made a face at the taste of black lipstick.  “You can’t go out looking like that.”  He said in a panic.  I rolled my eyes and smiled at him.  “No, I mean it.  If any guy sees you like that he’s gonna wanna fuck you right then and there.”  I strolled over to him swaying my hips obviously then draped my arms over his shoulders and pressed my hips against his.

“Yeah, baby, maybe they might want to but guess who gets to?”  He put his hands around my waist and bumped me against him.  He bent down and bit my neck viciously.  I giggled.

“I gotta have it now.”  He growled.  I pushed him back.

“No, darling, we have to go.  And you’re going to wait.  It’ll be better later.”  I pulled him by the hand out of the bedroom and down the stairs.  He growled at me all the way.
